The magnesium series products currently developed by Qinghai West Magnesium Co., Ltd. mainly include five types: high-purity magnesium hydroxide raw powder, fine powder, high-purity magnesium oxide, high-purity sintered magnesia, and high-purity fused magnesia. The product quality is unique and meets customer requirements.
High Purity Magnesium Hydroxide (High Purity Magnesium Hydroxide), chemical formula Mg(OH)₂, is a white solid, crystalline or amorphous powder, poorly soluble in water, insoluble in alkaline solutions, easily soluble in dilute acids and ammonium salt solutions. It decomposes into magnesium oxide and water upon heating, with an initial decomposition temperature of 340°C, fastest decomposition rate at 430°C, and complete decomposition at 490°C. Produced using internationally advanced technology through processes such as reaction synthesis, filtration, washing, and drying, it has a content of over 99%, an average particle size of 60μm, and a bulk density of 1.29 g/cm³. It can also be processed to 1–60μm and a bulk density of 0.3–1.29 g/cm³ according to customer requirements. This product is safe, non-toxic, environmentally harmless, and is not flammable or explosive. Its quality surpasses that of similar international products. Using Qinghai salt lake bischofite (MgCl₂·6H₂O) as raw material and produced via synthesis, the product is entirely high-purity grade and can be directly used as an end product in flame retardant (steel, metallurgy, chemical, plastic, rubber), electronics, pharmaceuticals, food, and other industries. The largest demand comes from the flame retardant industry. It is also the preferred high-quality raw material for producing high-purity light magnesium oxide, high-purity heavy magnesium oxide, pharmaceutical-grade magnesium oxide, food-grade magnesium oxide, electrical-grade magnesium oxide, silicon steel-grade magnesium oxide, and other high-end magnesium oxide products. As an excellent flame retardant and filler, it is widely used in EVA, PP, PVC, PS, HIPS, ABS plastics, as well as unsaturated polyesters, paints, and coatings. In environmental engineering, it serves as a non-polluting neutralizing agent; as a filler in the paper industry; and as a desulfurizing agent for gas purification, boiler flue gas, and waste oil. It is also used in magnesium salt manufacturing, sugar refining, pharmaceuticals, toothpowder, thermal insulation materials, wires and cables, conveyor belts, ventilation ducts, electrical equipment, new building materials, fiberglass products, paints, and as a soil conditioner. It is an environmentally friendly functional material. This product was successfully launched on July 15, 2006.
